Ribeye is my favorite steak, cooked just past rare. I think my favorite side is fries, with a baked potato coming a close second.

I like medium rare - not to bothered by the cut - although I grew up on T Bones, so they have a magical thing for me.

I agree! I grew up on t-bones but find myself rarely getting them unless my #2 sone is home
and that's what he requests. The oldest is happy with whatever steak is on the menu.

HH-: Sorry to jump on your thread and would have added to the other link had I known.

I like all the traditional accompaniments with a steak; mushrooms, garlic butter, fried
onions, and even had a prime rib served covered with beef gravy. That was unusual.
For sides I like creamed spinach, Texas beans, baked potatoes, garlic smashed, or
au gratin. If I know a place has good French fries, then that's it. The other night at the
Capital Grille the oldest ordered lobster mac and cheese to go with his steak. I didn't
have any but intend to make my own next time we do steaks.

Anyway, like I said, I grew up on t-bones but when I struck out on my own started eating
the rib eyes almost exclusively. For a late night steak fry after a night of drunken revelry
my bud and I would get chuck steak from the local corner grocer for $.79 a pound and
would eat two a piece and a half dozen eggs each. I still like to do chicks but the price
has gone up. Now days we have a lot of filets because they are small, tender and that's
what The Mrs likes.
