Re: You've Got To Be Kidding Me!
Politics should never be mentioned on a food blog, even under kitchen chat. I don't care if one is a Democrat or Republican, lets focus on the food and leave politics out of it. All that has come out of this discussion is that the Governor has set a precedent under the label " cultural icon " for lowering the flag. Only time will tell regarding how this will play out. And Joe, with respect.... Quote: You can bet your ass that's not the position of the Conservatives in this country. The progressive liberals on the other hand... Does not help your cause or anyone else. Credit to Rob for his impartial and balanced post...

Because the decision was made by a politician, it immediately becomes political fodder. Let us also not forget that the thread was started by the owner of Homecookskitchen.com. YOU tell her what she can or cannot post on her site. I'm not quite so bold.

Re: You've Got To Be Kidding Me!
I dont remember anyone doing this when jim morrison died .... I did JoeV, I enjoy the thrust and parry and exchange of ideas in political discourse, but the most elementary rule of intelligent debate is to check your facts! You failed to check two of them, the author of the thread and the ruling passed down by the Republican Gov. Chris Christie . I will once again repeat your first post: Quote: You can bet your ass that's not the position of the Conservatives in this country. The progressive liberals on the other hand... Fail!

Re: You've Got To Be Kidding Me!
I agree with HH in that there are a million places on the Internet for controversial political discussion, but this is a food/cooking forum. So I am locking this topic for now.
