 Food Hoarders???
OH MY Word!!!! There's a show on the Cooking Channel by this name. It's unbelievable. They just keep buying food and their homes are just stuffed with food!! It's just as bad as the show Hoarders, only with food. They're not just stocking up on sale items or things they need just all kinds of food. lol
Anyone ever watch this? I've never seen it before.

I lean towards that but am generous when folks come around for food donations. I believe in being prepared, up to a point.

I understand that JW. I do the same but this was just out of hand! Every room in their house had food of some kind in it. Including fridges and freezers with rotten food, freezer burned or 4-5 years expired stuff. It was to the point of being a health hazard......

 Re: Food Hoarders???
One of the things we think about here is what will happen if Mt. Rainier does a Mt. St. Helens. One needs to have water and food on hand to survive at least a week. We have enough food to be able to live at least a year, maybe less, but water is something else. we buy the jugs of water but after awhile they start leaking - these are the gallon jugs one buys at the grocer. We do have a little water purifier with filters and a 55 gallon vinegar barrel that we could get water off the roof, if need be. I also keep about 10 gallons of coleman fuel for the stove and normally keep 5 or 6 bags of charcoal. Right now I'm down to one bag and need to stock up.
With that said, Mt. Rainier won't blow up like Helens did but will melt down - the lahar will take out the whole Puyallup Valley - we live in the hills so won't have to worry. My kids live north and would be isolated from us but able to get by from what is accessible from the north.

I've posted pics of my pantry and thought it was full....wowza. lol I actually need to re-stock...Between the pantry and freezers/fridges we could probably survive a good 6 months....

 Re: Food Hoarders???
It's sad to see how much food gets wasted in this country. I do my best to not waste anything, and I still throw stuff out, but I'm sure not going to hoard rotting food! I'm not in the business of poisoning my family!
