The main store out here is Giant Eagle, they've mainly got the monopoly. They opened a sister store with just their store brands and isn't close. Now the original store is just stocking their brands. Granted some of it is okay but some of my name brand items are no longer being sold there. It's so frustrating to have to go up and down every aisle to find something, not to mention they re-arranged everything once again. I do have a "family" grocery store but I mainly buy my meats their and some veggies, I'm not crazy about some of their brands. The only other store is high priced and beyond my budget. Grrrrrr.....

I multi-shop too.... mostly for cost reasons. Canned and box stuff is WAY cheaper at Super Wallyworld..... but I HATE it there. Alot. Their produce sucks though, and thier meat scares me. Too many feathers in the whole chickens the last time. I go to the local grocery for that, which is a franchise of the big one, so not so over expensive.

Then you add Sam's to the mix... not always cheaper, but if you watch it, it is. I do it all after work on Sat Sun too when all the crazies are out.

We have Wallyworld and K-Mart groceries but I've never liked the looks of their meats or produce. They're not exactly close either. I'm spoiled with the stores here that are 5-10 minutes away. I don't want to have to drive 20 minutes somewhere else. lol It's sad, I know.....

Sam's is about 20 minutes away also but I usually only go there once a month and then kill my budget!

im pretty lucky .. wholesale club is 5 mins away .. thats where we get our meats and cheese ..
wally world is across the street from there .. thats where we get everything else but produce ...
there is a local grocery store we get that at ...
its kind of a lot of work going to a few different places .. but it saves money ...
also pretty close to the uppity foodie stores .. i love those places .. but i do not buy much from them ..
also have a few pretty good butcher shops around .. i keep an eye on thier adds for any specials ..

I really don't mind having to go to different stores. Especially if it's going to save me money in the long run. They're just so spread out. lol We do have an awesome butcher shop and they have great deals.

yea,, we are kind of in the middle of everything here ...
there is three super wally worlds within a ten min drive ...

oh ... but i do not like the meat there for some reason ... all they sell is smithfield pork ...
i personally do not like that brand ...

I've heard that said about Wally World.....so I've never attempted buying any. lol

We do have a Marc's store http://www.marcs.com/default.aspx which is like a discount drugstore/grocery store/sundries. They've got it all and they're inexpensive. Their produce is almost half the price any where but you have to get there at the right time. lol Forget their meats......all of it seems to be packaged in that bloated plastic.

I'm Blessed to have 4 major grocery stores within a 15 minute drive plus an Aldi. We have a Wallyworld right down the street but I don't buy groceries there. I've bought deli meat there twice that was bad when I bought it. They are bad about leaving stuff on the pallets without being refrigerated for hours before putting it away. I learned my lesson.

We used to have two Tops and GE..........the Tops went by the wayside about 6 years ago and is now a car dealership........like we don't have enough of them within a 1 mile block.

I need to check out the new Aldi's that is now fairly close to me. I haven't gone only because it's across from our big Mall and the traffic is horrendous!!
