I was thinking of making some fried rice w/leftover pork. Can you use any type of rice or is one better than the other?

I just use minute rice. Secret is to make the rice ahead of time and allow it to cool down before you fry it, actually make it a day ahead is better.

Thanks Bones! I think I may have some minute rice. I'll make it today then and have it for tomorrow.

For some reason if you pre-make it and then fry it, it doesn't turn to mush.
Good luck.

No worry, I'm opened to new ideas too.

Rice is not a big food item here, I had to look to find sushi rice.

We don't eat a lot of it either. But I do use the minute rice for a chicken/rice meal my mother always made.

I don't think I've ever seen sushi rice at any of our local stores. Not too many ethnic markets around here unless I drive 30 minutes....

What type of rice is used for sushi? Is it good for other than sushi? One of my girl's is the only person in this family that would be interested in sushi so I have never experienced it before.
