Does it matter what kind of rice you use??
I was thinking of making some fried rice w/leftover pork. Can you use any type of rice or is one better than the other?

I just use minute rice. Secret is to make the rice ahead of time and allow it to cool down before you fry it, actually make it a day ahead is better.

Thanks Bones! I think I may have some minute rice. I'll make it today then and have it for tomorrow.

For some reason if you pre-make it and then fry it, it doesn't turn to mush. Good luck.

We don't eat a lot of it either. But I do use the minute rice for a chicken/rice meal my mother always made.
I don't think I've ever seen sushi rice at any of our local stores. Not too many ethnic markets around here unless I drive 30 minutes....

One of my girl's is the only person in this family that would be interested in sushi so I have never experienced it before.
