Has anyone ever made them?? I saw some frozen in the grocery store today and wondered about how to cook them and what they taste like......anyone??? They were pretty plump ones too.

Oh yeah! Buy them! Quick before they're gone!

I used to make them all the time when I lived in Canada. But I never see them in the stores here. They are great!

Use a light batter (like you would on fish) or even a tempura batter. Deep fry for a few minutes until golden, but not too long (think of shrimp).

A good homemade tartar sauce. HEAVEN!

Another way is to bread or batter them, then lightly pan fry. Turn once. Just a minute or two on each side, depending on the size.

I'm jealous!

Just be sure to use the size as a judge for the cooking time. Just like shrimp or chicken wings, they come in all sizes. If they're big, I'd err on the side of a little too long rather than under cooked.

Never made them, but the ones I've eaten were always breaded and deep fried. I like them! :D

We love them - I understand they're farm raised in China now, too.
I never see them around here.

Back in the Mid West we used to go out in the evening and gig them.
It was a lot of fun of a hot sweaty night.

We'd just flour and fry them in cottonseed oil. Good eating.
