 Thanksgiving Plans??
Ok, it's only about 3 weeks til Thanksgiving. Will you be cooking or going somewhere? Will you have company? What are your plans and do you know what your cooking/having?? My meal is simple. It's been the same thing for probably the last 50 years. LOL I do sometimes change up on the sides but the rest of the meal is the same. I've been looking at different recipes for other sides....All anyone really cares about is the turkey and stuffing with the emphasis on the "stuffing"! Turkey Stuffing Giblet gravy Mashed potatoes Candied sweet potatoes Green bean casserole Cranberry sauce Broasted brussel sprouts Homemade rolls Pumpkin pie

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
We'll be with TJ's family this year. Probably at his Mom's house. I dunno what I'll bring yet..... I tend to get assigned rolls and stuffing. I think she knows about my carb addiction.....

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
We are still trying to decide what to do.....we don't really want to go to PJ's brothers house yet we aren't jumping at the idea of having everyone here either.....maybe go out of town and hide sounds good to me!!!

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
we will have our normal gathering of family that doesnt help or bring anything except tupperware for leftovers ... (thats a rule i put in place a few years back.. you want leftovers bring something to take it home in) sooo ... probably the same things as usual ... fried turkey ... spiral sliced ham (the smithfield paula dean one) mac and cheese parmesean and roasted garlic mashed taters stuffing (this is one thing i am looking into making different ..one with sausage in it) greenbeans .. corn .. might make broccolli .. depends .. rolls of some sort ...
apps ... atomic buffalo turds .. some kind of fatties ... buffalo chicken dip .. something with salmon ...
dessert ... pumpkin pie ... apple crumb pie .. pecan pie .. with sweet potato topping .. anything else people bring .. ( which means nothing)

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
I so agree with you Steve on the containers. I used to go through so many of them and NEVER got them back...no more. No one ever brings anything here or helps out either, including my own daughter. I forgot about appetizers.....it will probably be shrimp cocktail and spinach artichoke dip.

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
I understand that perfectly, Steve. I now do it for the grandkids. Just to keep up the tradition. Most of my family is gone now so it's mostly just the kids and grandkids. We'll sometimes have my bil and sil but not often. I don't associate much with my brothers and they're all out of town any way.......

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
My eldest son and his wife split (trust me, this was a good thing).. so I'll be having Thanksgiving with he, my GD, and whomever else decides to come along. We'll be having it out this year. No mess, no fuss.

 Re: Thanksgiving Plans??
That sounds like it will be a good time Lollie. It's always nice when you can spend it with family no matter if it's out or cooking in.
