 Create a Casserole
Protein - Choose One or More 2 cups ham, chopped 2 cups cooked chicken/turkey, chopped 2 cups luncheon meat 2 cups cooked beef, veal, lamb or pork 2 cups hard cooked eggs 2 cups hot dogs, cut into chunks 2 cups cheese 2 cups canned tuna or salmon
Starch, cooked - Choose One 2 cups egg noodles 2 cups macaroni 2 cups penne pasta 2 cups of spiral or bow tie pasta 2 cups rice 2 cups potatoes, thinly sliced or small cubes 2 cups spaghetti 2 cups corn 2 cups sweet potatoes
Vegetable, cooked - Choose One 1 1/2 cups sauteed onions, green pepper; and celery 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned green beans 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned peas 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned carrots 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned asparagus 1 1/2 cups cooked shredded cabbage 1 1/2 cups cooked broccoli 1 1/2 cups cooked or canned peas and carrots 1 (13 1/2-ounce) can chopped spinach
Sauce - Choose One 1 can cream of celery soup; and 1/2 cup of milk 1 can cream of chicken soup; and 1/2 cup of buttermilk or milk 1 can cream of potato soup; and 1/2 cup of sour cream 1 can cream of mushroom soup; and 1/2 cup of cream or milk 1 can tomato juice 1 can cheddar cheese soup; and 1/2 cup of vegetable juice 1 can tomato soup; and 1/2 cup of water 2 cups white sauce
For Added Flavor - Choose One or More 1/4 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup sliced black olives 1 (4.5-ounce) can chopped green chilies 1 (3-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained 2 garlic cloves, minced 1-2 teaspoons mixed dried leaf herbs (basil, thyme, marjoram, tarragon) 1 (1 1/4-ounce) envelope taco seasoning mix Salt and pepper to taste
Topping - Choose One or More 3/4 cup crushed potato chips 3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs mixed with 1/4 cup of melted butter 3/4 cup french fried onion rings 3/4 cup crushed cornflakes 3/4 cup grated cheese 3/4 cup slightly crushed potato sticks 3/4 cup slivered almonds 3/4 cup cracker crumbs 1 cup herb-seasoned stuffing mix mixed with 1/4 cup of melted butter
Pick and choose your ingredients. Bake at 350 until done...depending on the ingredients you choose, it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
