Post ISO a new salad.
I want to make something different for Sunday. No protein in it. It can be a pasta salad of some type or just vegetables. Not a lettuce salad.

Anyone have some suggestions?

I like a good onion and cucumber salad. Or a tomato, basil, mozzerella salad. Have you ever had tabouli salad? It's really good! :D

I also love the onion and cucumber salad. I think I'll do that......everyone loves it. I forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder Rob.

No I've never had tabouli salad. I would wonder if the kids would like it though? I'll have to give it a try some time.

I threw this one together a couple of weeks ago and it turned out great: http://www.mamas-southern-cooking.com/b ... salad.html

After I made it I had to go back and guess on the amount of pasta, broccoli and peas I put in it. The dressing amounts are correct but you may need more or less dressing. It was a HUGE hit.

How about a green bean, swiss and almond salad? It's an old recipe from The Moosewood Cookbook. I'll post it if it interests you.

I'm guessing it's for Sunday (Memorial Day weekend), for a casual cookout (crowd)? I'll roll w/ that lol. If it's more formal, holla.

I do layered pasta salads in my big trifle bowl or clear V-shaped salad bowl.

Add:
Cooked pasta of choice (tortellini, tri-color, whatever you like)
Veggies of choice
cheese of choice
Dressing of choice

Mediterranian is one way to go. Add crumbled feta cheese, red onions, artichoke hearts, halved cherry tomatoes, black olives, cukes, etc. Top it off w/ Tzatziki sauce.
