 Barbecue Ribs
I'm not a bbq queen by any means. I baked my ribs in the oven on a broiler pan with water underneath for 2-1/2 hours. I just used salt and pepper. I then put them on the grill, brushed bbq sauce on them and grilled til they got some color on them. This is the bbq sauce recipe I've used for years. I know some of you guys do way better...... 1 cup catsup 1 cup chili sauce 1/2 cup finely minced onion 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. salt 1 clove garlic, finely minced 2 T. Worcestershire sauce 2 T. lemon juice 1 tsp. yellow mustard Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring until well mixed. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Attachment:

 Re: Barbecue Ribs
Those ribs look luscious to me, Barb!
I can't wait to get out in the yard and barbecue! By the end of the summer, I'm BBQ'd out and can't wait for soups, stews and chilis.
Funny how that works, huh?

 Re: Barbecue Ribs
They do look delicious. I wonder if something other than water in the pan would infuse flavor and add another layer, OJ maybe... or apple juice. I'm not sure it would be like wrapping them in foil with the liquid, but it might add something.

 Re: Barbecue Ribs
Not a dumb question at all Peter. I guess it's pretty similar to a tomato sauce. It's something we put on burgers or french fries. It's a concentrated tomato product with sugar, vinegar and other spices. Its spelled catsup or ketchup. It comes in a bottle. I don't know if I explained that thoroughly enough............I found this on wikpedia:
In countries such as Australia, New Zealand and in South Africa the term 'tomato sauce' is used instead of the British and American usage of the word ketchup.

 Re: Barbecue Ribs
Cheers Barb. I just needed confirmation. Is Heinz the ketchup of choice ?

Lee LOL, exactly how it works out here too... by August I'll be whining that it's still too warm to make some soup!
